Laser treatment is pretty simple and doesn’t require from patients or doctors any maintenance on daily basis same like we see in many cases of gels and topical creams used for psoriasis. Laser treatment considers every patient a unique one to treatment, but in majority of cases patients are given treatment-free remission for several months even after having only around 8 laser sessions. But in Vitiligo treatment cases, only a few number treatments are considered enough in achieving effective re-pigmentation of the skin in a relative short time period. It also reduces side effects.

Only 8 laser treatment sessions are enough in some cases to start repigmentation but other conventional booth sessions may take even 30 or more sessions to produce the same results.

It is also said about laser treatment method that the shortcomings of this latest treatment method are really fewer than many currently known and in practice common Vitiligo or psoriasis treatments. There is no risk to healthy skin to get exposed to ultraviolet light in this method only due to the targeted nature of therapy. That reduces that fear of premature skin aging which is a common case we see as after effects of lamp phototherapy treatment method. It also doesn’t leave any stretch marks (mostly happens due to steroids), easy bruising and doesn’t thin the patient’s skin.

There are no any systemic side effects of laser Vitiligo treatment method that are seen in most cases of oral medications. So, one can say that laser therapy has very minimal side effects. Mostly patients never reported any side effect they attain because of laser therapy, but very few patients returned back to their doctors to report short-lived and mild redness just around the lesion site. Laser Vitiligo treatment method also doesn’t have any fear of hyper-pigmentation or blistering (these are short-lived if any).
